...And everyday the world will drag you by the hand and yell this is important! And this is important!! You need to worry about this and this! And this! And each day it’s up to you to yank your hand back, put it in your heart and so no THIS is important.

Up to 80% of women will develop Fibroids by the age of 50 according to the NIH (National Institute Of Health). I am one of them and I know many of you reading this are too. Fibroids are typically non cancerous tumors that grow in a woman’s uterus and can cause pretty severe pain and bleeding. After being diagnosed with these I went on a mission to find a non surgical approach. I had friends with similar lifestyles as mine (high achieving, alpha female, workaholics) and post surgery the fibroids came back. This made me super curious about the root of Fibroids. Doctors are unclear but many signs point back to hormonal imbalances. So I started doing an experiment myself and have been symptom free for almost 2 years!

LIFEHACK: Practice getting curious about the root cause of the hormonal imbalance. Ask yourself the following questions. Let’s explore the responses together.

1. How is your sleep-Are you getting 7-8 hours a night? Are you sleeping restfully through the night? Are you skipping sleep?

2. How are your eating habits? Are you eating clean, nutritious, energizing foods? Write a list of everything you eat for a week. Are there any charged emotions you feel when choosing foods? Are you eating clean, nutrient dense foods?

3. How is your exercise practice-Do you have a regular ritual in place to move energy through and out of your body? This does not need to involve a gym or a class. Walking your dog works, doing a routine in your living rooms works, just  jot it down.

4. What does your substance intake look like? Alcohol, caffeine, pharmaceuticals, etc.

5. What is your current self care practice? Could be yoga, walking, reading, bubble baths, journaling, getting your nails done, jot anything down.

6. What is your practice for stress management? In times of stress what do you do first?
